Do I Believe In Angels
I have had the pleasure of having a few Angels in my life. It is so hard to pick just one. But I will give it a try. I believe everyone has Angels with them. I also believe if you listen with your heart as well as your ears you can hear them. I believe they wrap their wings around you to let you know that what ever you are facing, you are not facing it alone.
When my granddaughter was born she was the joy of my life. I never had an easy life. My parents split up when I was 7. My father took us kids and left one night while my mom was at work. I never saw her again for 8 years and she died 2 year later.
Then I was married to a very abusive man and for 13 years I put up with it. I worked in the fields hoeing cotton to support my daughter and myself. Nothing was ever handed to me and I had to work hard for anything I got. And I guess I never found time to listen for Angels.
But when my granddaughter was born all that changed. I found joy in living. She taught me how to live, and how to believe. I went to church, not because I had to, but because I wanted to. I turned my life around. I did not dwell on the past any more. God let us keep my granddaughter for 21 months. Knowing her made me a much better person.
After she passed away I got really sick. I was put in intensive care because I had blood clots in my arm, chest, and one going to my brain. They told my daughter I would not make it through the night. She came in all upset and I told her she didn’t have to fear because I was going to walk out of that hospital. I knew this because my little angel (Katelyn my granddaughter) was not there. I believe with all my heart that when my time comes she will be there to take my hand and lead me home. A nurse was standing there and asked me, “Do you believe in angels?” I replied, “I sure do because I lived with one”.
The doctor came in the next morning and told me he had to take my arm off from the elbow down or I would die. I told him, “No I am going to live… and with my arm”. The pain was terrible in my arm and I remember them giving me a shot for pain and I was praying. The next thing I knew I felt as if I was flying and I could see all the stars and clouds were below me and I heard this most peaceful voice say, “It’s not your time”. And then a little hand took my hand and led me back. When I opened my eyes I had my hand stretched out as If I had hold of something. The nurse asked me how I felt. I told her I felt fine.
I walked out of that hospital 7 days later.
Do I believe in angels? Oh Yes! I sure do!
