Daughter

When you were a child, I could hold your hand and hug you close to me.
I watched you as you grew, with such love and pride in my heart.
Your struggles were sometimes many but you always seemed to overcome
them; sometimes after many tears shed.
You grew into a beautiful young lady. Nothing seemed impossible
for your reach or for the independence you struggled for.
You began to take life with all that it had to offer and all that you had to
give.
There had been a time when I could hold you and guide you;
a time in which I could be there for you, always.
The years replaced that with the search for my strength to
let go of the “child” who I had raised and to encourage
the dreams that you were to set for yourself.
I was learning to do the work of every Mother; to gently let go.
I
feel such pride in my heart when I tell you that you are
My Precious Daughter;
as precious as any dream in the whole world.
I love you so much and I want you to know that....
Raising you was the most precious dream that I have ever had in my life!
I realize that “my” special dream has come true; my goal has been
achieved.
Having you as My Daughter to share My Dream was the greatest
gift I could have ever been given!
God Bless You, My Daughter.
