MY SON

                                                    I LOVE YOU

The years have passed by much faster than I would have liked them to. In my heart, I would have liked to have seen you remain a little boy just a while longer. Knowing this, I still lived for the day you would grow into a young man. I silently looked at you with such pride but knowing that young men of your age have a hard time hearing their parent’s feelings, I kept them to myself.

I raised you to be independent; yet care for others. You soon learned that you could make your own choices in life and to always reach for your dreams. You might say that from the time you were born, I wanted to give you wings to fly. Today, however, I realize that in giving you those wings, you are flying away from me. You have become a young man.

As a child, you looked up at me with those beautiful eyes; straight into my heart. As a young man, I look up into your eyes with such pride in my heart. I love you with all of my heart, Son. I am so very Blessed to have you in my life and so grateful for the privilege of raising you. You have become a young man and I want you to know that I am very proud of you!

This writing is dedicated to My Sons Darren and Ryan.

I love you Son #1 and Son #2!
